Open governance

Governance & contributions

ABCS is created and stewarded by Sirvisetti and developed in the open. Draft definitions are expected to improve through practical implementation and public contribution.

Business-only scope gate

Would the proposed capability still make business sense if humans performed the work manually and all implementation technology disappeared?

Every proposed domain and capability must pass this test. Middleware, integration infrastructure, generic automation, transports, schedulers and vendor APIs are rejected from the canonical business model even when they are useful implementation technologies.

Domain maturity

Draft 0.2 uses two maturity labels: Reference for domains with deeper object/schema modeling and Initial for representative, non-exhaustive catalogs intended to establish vocabulary. Maturity labels do not imply market adoption.

GREEN provenance policy

Canonical ABCS content must be based on original work or clearly permissive/open sources whose terms permit reuse. Proprietary or licensing-ambiguous frameworks must not be used as source material for canonical definitions.

Clearly open standards may be consulted selectively for useful business semantics, but ABCS should create concise canonical definitions rather than copy external models wholesale.

Compatibility discipline

Published identifiers retain their established business meaning. Compatible revisions may add optional information. Removing required information, changing canonical field meaning or changing defined business effects is breaking and requires explicit version treatment.

Contribution review

Proposals should answer: Is this enduring business meaning? Which business domain owns it? Is the identifier stable and vendor-neutral? Are objects and fields canonical rather than application-specific? Does it duplicate an existing capability? What is the provenance of the proposed semantics?

Positioning

ABCS is an open specification created and open-sourced by Sirvisetti. It should not be described as an industry standard or as widely adopted unless future evidence supports that claim.

Relationship to Sirvisetti Autonomy

Sirvisetti Autonomy is a reference and commercial implementation. ABCS governance remains focused on the open canonical specification rather than product-specific requirements.
